Education technology integration is an exciting part of the modern-day classroom. In ED 410, we further defined technology and researched how to implement it successfully and effectively.
Technology Integration
Let's take a closer look at technology integration:
Educational technology "complements what a teacher does naturally". - James Marshall
Technology integration is an exciting new part of the classroom, but it also brings new and unique challenges. Teachers must develop procedures and plans ahead of time to ensure that the kids are able to interact with the technology in a calm, safe, and productive way.
1:1 technology integration is becoming a very common practice in the classroom. This means that each student has his or her own device to use. This sometimes even means that the school has implemented a "BYOD" or "Bring Your Own Device" policy, which means teachers must take even more things into consideration. The video below describes how teachers can manage technology in a 1:1 technology situation.
